Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Habituation Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will brief you about the safari and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with en-route stops at the Equator Crossings in Kayabwe and lunch in Mbarara Town. Proceed to the southern region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where gorilla habituation experience takes place.
This journey is very scenic with views of the Kigezi rolling hills as you travel to Kisoro. Arrive in the evening late in the afternoon, check in at your lodge for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience
Wake up early for breakfast and with your packed lunch box, you will head to the park headquarters to join other visitors for briefing about gorilla habituation experience. In groups of 4 people, enter into the forest search for mountain gorillas accompanied by armed rangers, scientists and researchers. The trek takes a full day with 4 hours of being with a semi-habituated gorilla family, witness how the gorillas are being trained to being friendly to human visits and also take part in collecting samples.
After this immersive experience, you will return to the park headquarters, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive to Kibale National Park with a drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will get a chance to see several animals including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes during the game drive.
Continue to Kibale National Park arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Enjoy an early breakfast, be transferred to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the presence of the chimpanzees. Together with scientists, researchers and armed rangers, head into the forest searching for a semi-habituated chimpanzee trop. The experience takes a full day with four hours of watching the chimpanzees being habituated, collect sample, and observe the chimpanzees’ different characteristics and traits and take amazing pictures and videos.
After this immersive experience, trek back to the starting point, return to your lodge for an evening of rest, later enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala with a lunch break in Mbarara. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight, bringing your Uganda safari to an end.
